SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION TOOLS
System Administration Tools is a suite of utilities enabling the ALCiE Administrator to configure
various components of the system, including the applications accessible to each user, the company
(or multiple companies) accessible to each user, the functional role(s) of each user, as well
as monitoring and adjusting technical parameters of the system.
It consists of four categories of applications: System Functions, Menu Maintenance, Security
Management and System Administration.
SYSTEM FUNCTIONS
System Functions allows for user-defined set-up of ALCiE applications. It is used to configure
the application to each individual company's information. This includes set-up of multiple
companies, currencies, users, and so on.
MENU MAINTENANCE
Menu Maintenance enables the customization of the ALCiE menu options. Typically, users have
menus that reflect their functional roles within the company. As a result, the menu options
available to users act as an application access security, which restricts their access to
the information stored in the database.
SECURITY MANAGEMENT (add-on)
Security Management allows ALCiE Administrators to grant or revoke privileges to users,
or groups of users, at the database level - which is an additional level of security
compared to user application access privileges. This data security is typically applied
when users are allowed to access the database information using third-party software products.
SYSTEM ADMINISTRATION
System Administration tools allow the Administrator to monitor the database objects and
system usage, along with the monitoring of user activity, history and active processes.
From the information collected, the Administrator can perform routine tasks to maintain
system performance, as needed.
